Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto was a very interesting reading. In this reading he compared two different classes in societies. The classes consisted of the Bourgeoisie and Proletariat. In these classes the economies were very different. The bourgeoisie society is made up of production and of exchange. Marx believed that this process turns personal worth into exchange value. He believed that free trade exploits people.
In bourgeoisie there is always a need of expanding the market. “The bourgeoisie cannot exist without constantly revolutionizing the instruments of production,” (Marx, 359). The more technology there is for production, the fewer jobs are available. This causes competition. The world then gets involved in this competition, and this causes hatred of foreigners. Marx was obviously is against this type of society.
He believed that with proletariat people are equal and they all work together for the common good. He believed that the proletariat competition was beneficial to the people; it made them stronger. This is the exact opposite of the bourgeoisie society. The proletariat people do not own property. They do not have to worry about things that bourgeoisie people have to worry about. They are more group oriented.
The bourgeoisie society reminds me of the United States. We are a society that is oriented around competition. You are paid based upon the amount of labor you do. Our society is made up of individuals. Our economy is also based upon the production and technology. There has been fewer factory jobs open, because of the advance in technology. We are a very competitive society. Marx would be against our economy.

In Carl Marx's essay it was kinda hard for me to understand at first till he started talking about the different classes and i agree with our economy is based on the technology and how there has been less job because of these technologies. but i feel that you did a good job
You really had a good understanding of this document. I especially thought your understanding of the differences between the proletariat and bourgeious classes were very clear.
I liked reading your blog, it explained the "Communist Manifesto" in a more clear light. I only wish I could have read more on what your personal opinions were. Such as: what do you think about Karl Marx's views, and would they really help in the situations that America are in today? And do you think Americans would be open to what Marx believed. You did do a great job though.Through your summary I picked up even more I may not have realized the first time reading the text.
